Tom Farbanish
Since graduating from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 1985, Tom Farbanish’s involvement with glass has been diverse and active. In addition to exhibition his sculpture internationally, Tom has designed and produced sophisticated products, fabricated work for leading contemporary artists and architects, and has been a visible figure in glass education. His sculpture has been exhibited at galleries coast to coast including William Traver Gallery in Seattle and Heller Gallery in New York City, with international locations from Denmark to Japan. Fabricating glass projects for artists and architects has long been an important part of Farbanish’s work schedule.
In addition to the challenge of creative problem solving, this process increases his vocabulary and knowledge of glass. With workshops and lectures given at more than 25 schools and institutions, Tom Farbanish’s devotion to glass education is clear. He has taught at: the Pilchuck Glass School, Haystack, Penland, UrbanGlass, R.I.S.D., R.I.T., and Tyler School of Art.
