Susan Taylor Glasgow
Once a seamstress, Susan Taylor Glasgow now applies her needle and thread to glass creating translucent Sewn Glass vessels and sculpture. A graduate in design from the University of Iowa, Taylor Glasgow now resides and operates her studio in Columbia, Missouri. Taking traditional fused glass techniques to a new level, Taylor Glasgow’s patent-pending work involves stitching multiple glass panels together to create sculptural vessels and forms. To complement the nostalgic detail of sewing, she often uses Fifties imagery to create glass sculpture that is strangely comforting and unexpected. Taylor Glasgow’s work is award-winning, including a Pilchuck Emerging Artists Residency in 2002.
