Kimonos are incredibly beautiful garments made from the finest silk in the world. Days, weeks, and even months of work and attention to detail went into producing the varied styles and textures found in the cloth for these works of art.

Over the past twenty years, I’ve spent many months traveling throughout Japan. While there, I purchased the most exquisite Kimono silks I could find in order to create these scarves and preserve this precious art form.

Most of this silk is at least 30 to 60 years old!

I’ve made each of these scarves lovingly by hand, taking time to be sure that the individual silk textures and patterns match and compliment each other in the best way possible, then hand sewing them into these scarves, adding my signature Ume (Plum Blossom) to each one.

No two of these scarves are alike. They are each a unique piece of the history of Japan.
