We began making our wine racks upon retirement. We use only recycled wood and recycled wine barrels in the construction process. The wood is taken apart from its original structure, and all nails and staples are removed. We then plane the rough wood, cut to our design specifications, sand each piece several times for a smooth finish, then stain and apply several coats of polyurethane. The wine rack is then assembled, adding copper pipe or black pipe trim to many designs.
We have about a dozen different designs. Some hold only wine bottles, some hold bottles and wine glasses, and one we call a mini bar as it holds bottles, old-fashioned glasses, and shot glasses. All of the racks are available in a variety of stain options.
