I make functional stoneware for food and flowers in my woodland studio a stone’s throw from the Susquehanna River in Harrisburg, PA. All my work is designed, created, and finished by me. Mostly, I throw vessels on the wheel, then decorate with subtle matte glazes and sparse brushwork.

Travels within the USA and internationally have influenced my pottery; museum labels in various languages are easy to interpret when the subject is a three-dimensional pot. Flower gardening informs my vase designs. Love of cooking pushes my design choices for serving vessels. Pottery has allowed me to enjoy a well-rounded life.
