Marie Retpen is a Danish glass designer and maker creating curious work that precariously balances between sculpture and design. Her background is a combination between a Diploma in production glass blowing from the Kosta Glass School in Sweden and a MA from the Royal College of Art in London. Further, she has been taking masterclasses in America and Italy, worked as an apprentice and assistant in United Kingdom, America and Denmark. Her work has been shown at solo and group exhibitions all over the world, among others, Talente 2006 and the gallery Craft2eu in Germany, Biennalen 2007 – Design and Craft in Denmark, The British Glass Biennale, Side by Side and Glass Sellers Prize in United Kingdom and in 2007 she represented United Kingdom at The International Exhibition of Glass Kanazawa in Japan. Marie currently lives and works in London and Aarhus (Denmark).
