1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Engage with works of art and archaeological artifacts through talks led by archaeologists, curators, and artists. Each speaker will provide a unique, personal perspective on their role as it relates to the topics addressed in the two special exhibits, From the Ground Up and Mine Moonlight: Artists Working in Philadelphia’s River Wards, in the Museum of American Glass.
Don Friel and Joe Mattson, WheatonArts Glassblowers
Join two of our resident artists, Don Friel and Joe Mattson, as they discuss their work in relation to the history being unearthed during the excavation taking place in Philadelphia. The talk will be informal and conversational as we explore the exhibition.
Joe and Don have been working with glass since the mid-70’s.
