Draga Šušanj
Draga Šušanj was born in Yugoslavia. She has lived and worked in New York City since 2007. Šušanj forms site-specific poetic interventions that explore the language of place. Šušanj is a recipient of Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture Fellowship in 2002, The Pritzker Foundation Endowed Fellowship in 2003, Pollock-Krasner Grant in 2005, and most recently of Abbey Mural Fellowship at the National Academy Museum in 2009.Draga Šušanj has exhibited in Serbia and the United States, including Belgrade Student Cultural Center, Samson Projects and Ames Building in Boston, Phillips Exeter Academy, NH, Center on Contemporary Art in Seattle, Filament Gallery in Portland, ME, at South Shore Cultural Club, Chicago Cultural Center in Chicago, Emily Harvey Foundation, Chashama, and National Academy Museum in New York City.
