Ben Wright
Ben Wright has pursued a career as an artist since graduating from Dartmouth College with a biology degree in 1998. He discovered hot glass shortly after leaving school and it continues to be one of his primary artistic media to this day. After several years of blowing glass in production studios, he returned to school, and recently received a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree from the Appalachian Center for Craft. In the last few years, he has served on the Board of Directors for the Glass Art Society as well as receiving scholarships and awards from Pilchuck Glass School, Penland School of Crafts, the Appalachian Center for Craft, Tennessee Tech University, Niche Magazine, and the Vermont Studio Center. Ben has helped teach a number of glassblowing workshops at the Appalachian Center for Crafts and Penland School of Crafts. He currently resides in Woodstock, Vermont where he both continues to pursue teaching opportunities and produces his unique sculptural work.
