Frida Fjellman
Frida Fjellman earned her MFA in Glass and Ceramics from Konfstack in Stockholm, Sweden. In 2003, she was awarded an Honorary Diploma from the Jutta Cuny- Franz Foundation. She has had several solo exhibitions at the IngerMolin Gallery, The Agata Gallery, and the Blas&Knada Gallery in Stockholm and exhibits around the world. Her work is in the collection of the Nationalmuseum, Stockholm, Rohss Museum of Arts and Crafts, Goteburg, and the Swedish Glass Museum, Vaxjo. Fjellman works with landscapes and small worlds, in combination with extreme furniture that we usually connect to our homes, interior design, and symbols of status. She also integrates animals and objects in glass and ceramics inspired by Swedish nature. Figurative glass and ceramics have long suffered from low esteem in Sweden. She wishes to overstep the unwritten laws and rules in that field and create warm, strange, or suggestive spots in harsh environments.
