WINTER SEASON AT WHEATONARTS BEGINS JANUARY 1, 2024
MILLVILLE, NJ (December 29, 2023) – Once again, the winter season is upon WheatonArts and Cultural Center, closing to the public during the months of January, February, and March. The Museum of American Glass, Folklife Center, and Artist Studios will be closed for exhibition changes, inventory purposes, and repairs during this period. The campus will fully reopen on Thursday, April 4, 2024, when WheatonArts returns to its seasonal operating schedule (open April through December). The Museum Stores will continue to be available online at shop.wheatonarts.org or by scheduled appointment.
One exception to the campus closing is the annual Mid-Winter Antique Show on January 27 & 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Open at a discounted admission rate of $7.00 per person, this show highlights approximately 40 quality dealers in the Event Center and attracts thousands of visitors from the Mid-Atlantic region. Attendees can explore a wide array of antique furniture, books, ceramics, glass, jewelry, linens, memorabilia, toys, pottery, vintage accessories, and more. WheatonArts Members enjoy an early preview of the show at 9 a.m. on Saturday. The Artist Studios and Museum Stores will also be open both days of the Antique Show.
During the 2024 winter season, WheatonArts will continue online programs, including the Family Art Workshop video tutorials posted every first Tuesday of the month, presented by PNC Arts Alive. The virtual Wheaton Conversations series returns on Thursday, February 15, for a unique look into neon glass art by DC Gallery’s Danielle Cartier with Eve Hoyt and Alissa Eberle. On March 21, Wheaton Conversations presents West African folk art in “Visualizing Ancestral Connections” with Richard Robinson Jr. and Ira L. Bond. Registration is free for these live artist talks, and links to both are on the WheatonArts website. Past episodes of the Wheaton Conversations series and Family Art Workshops are available on the WheatonArts YouTube channel.
