Jim Barton, a paperweight collector since childhood, is the author or co-author of 49 articles on antique glass paperweights. He and his wife, Nancy, a student of needlepoint, textiles, and other decorative arts, are interested in discovering associations of antique paperweights and related items with persons and events of the past. As a hematologist and medical oncologist, he is the author or co-author of 280 medical and scientific articles, 38 book chapters and books, and three patents. Jim and Nancy live in Birmingham, Alabama.
