John D. Hawley, a collector of paperweights since 1973, now concentrates on antique American weights, specifically those made at the Boston & Sandwich and New England Glass Companies.

He is the author of four books on the subject:

He has been the Editor of the Annual Bulletin of the Paperweight Collectors Association, Inc. for twenty-seven years. He has presented lectures at Paperweight Collectors Association, Inc. national conventions and at the semiannual Paperweight Fests at WheatonArts. He is now the President of the Delaware Valley Paperweight Collectors Association. A retired ordnance engineer, John lives with his wife, Toby, in Voorhees, New Jersey.
