Katey Murphy received her BFA from Temple University (2014) and her MFA from Virginia Commonwealth University (2018). She started working with glass in 2009 and has taught the material to students ranging in age from middle school to degree-seeking university students across the east coast at institutions such as Virginia Commonwealth University, Old Dominion University, and the Visual Art Center of Richmond.

Murphy is the current Glass Studio Manager at WheatonArts, where she facilitates artist residencies and runs day-to-day studio operations. In her artwork, she uses playful, colorful designs.
