Sea Glass Mosaic
Mermaid tears. Beach glass. Sea gems. Sea glass. Whatever you prefer to call them, they have dazzled beachcombers, crafters, and artists for many years. Now learn how to create a mosaic using your sea glass collection! You can search for sea glass amongst the ocean waves and bay shore or purchase sea glass online.
Materials:
- Sea Glass
- Frame with the Original Glass
- Silicone
- Drawing Paper
- Marker or Pencil
- Tape
- Tweezers
Step 1: Organize sea glass by color.
Step 2: Sketch your design on drawing paper.
Step 3: Flip the frame over and tape the design onto the back of the glass.
Step 4: Flip the frame over again with the front of the glass facing upwards with your design behind it.
Step 5: Without gluing, arrange your glass over the design. Make changes in the arrangement of glass pieces if you cannot find the right size at first. It is similar to a puzzle!
Step 6: Once you have a final arrangement, glue each piece using 100% silicone. Use tweezers to help with the smaller pieces of glass.
Step 7: Allow the silicone to dry and then hang your sea glass mosaic on the wall. If able, hang it in a window to turn it into a beautiful suncatcher.
