MILLVILLE, NJ (March 20, 2019) – Wheaton Arts and Cultural Center kicks off the spring season with a new event titled Wheaton Springs 2019 on Saturday, April 6, 2019. Attendees can experience a “Spring Festival: Asian New Year Celebrations” with dance and music performances and traditional Asian craft demonstrations in the Event Center, explore the new Museum of American Glass exhibit Emanation 2019 with a guided tour, create unique “make-and-take” glass fused magnets in the Education Studio, discover the art of papermaking, ceramic wheel-throwing, and glassblowing with Asian themed demonstrations, and more! During this event, admission to all WheatonArts exhibits and Artist Studio demonstrations are free and open to the public, part of “Family Days! Presented by PNC Arts Alive!”

Wheaton Springs 2019 event highlights include:

• A special Director’s tour of the Emanation 2019 exhibition in the Museum of American Glass at 11:30 a.m. and a guided tour at 2:30 p.m.
• The new exhibit The Old Masters: Buddhist Art & Pottery is on display in the Down Jersey Folklife Center.
• Dragon and Lion Dances leading from the GateHouse to the Event Center at 1 p.m.
• “Spring Festival: Asian New Year Celebrations” in the Event Center from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., filled with dance and musical performances unique to Asian traditions associated with the celebration of the Lunar New Year, along with traditional hands-on craft demonstrations.
• Guided Tours of the WheatonArts Nature Trail by CU Naturalist, Jane Galetto, at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
• Pre-Registered Glass Bubble Blowing in the Glass Studio from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Register online at wheatonarts.org.
• A large-scale glass Chinese lantern demonstration in the Glass Studio from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Asian Pottery Demonstrations in the Pottery Studio from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
• Kiln Tour with Resident Potter, Terry Plasket in the Pottery Studio at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
• Papermaking demonstrations by Cherelle Oriolo in the Paper Studio from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
• Pre-registered glass-fusing “make-and-take” magnet projects in the Education Studio. Call to register at 856.825.6800 ext. 152.
