NEW! Paul Stankard Flamework Fellowship

WheatonArts is thrilled to announce a new, exciting opportunity for the glass community—the inaugural Paul Stankard Flamework Fellowship! As a Center dedicated to the preservation and advancement of glass as an artistic medium, we are proud to launch this Fellowship within our Creative Glass Fellowship Program to honor the legacy of Paul Stankard and his invaluable contributions to the world of flameworking. Continuing in 2025, the Paul Stankard Flamework Fellowship will be awarded to an emerging or mid-career artist who is innovating and pushing the boundaries of artwork made with a torch. One Fellowship per year will be open to artists eager to explore and expand their flameworking practice. This Fellowship is awarded through the Creative Glass Fellowship Program.

The paperweight sits upon two tiers, which are on top of a white tablecloth. Paul is smiling at the camera and wearing a black button down shirt over top of a light red shirt.

About the Creative Glass Fellowship Program

Serving over 365 artists since 1983, the Creative Glass Fellowship Program at WheatonArts provides an exceptional opportunity for artists to pursue their creative development in one of the finest glass facilities in the country. During their Fellowships, artists join a creative community that offers private studios, stipends, technical assistance, comfortable housing, and institutional support. They are embraced by dedicated staff on a beautiful 45-acre campus, a true creative sanctuary.

We celebrate, support, and value a diverse community. We are committed to creating an inclusive and safe environment. We strongly encourage women, BIPOC individuals, LGBTQ individuals, people with disabilities, members of ethnically diverse populations, and foreign-born residents to apply. Applicants will not be discriminated against because of their race, color, creed, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, religion, national origin, citizenship status, disability, ancestry, marital status, veteran status, or medical condition.
