Dave Goldmann Woodworking
Egg Harbor Township, NJ
I have been working with wood for 50 years just enjoying the process and making pieces for family and friends. About 15 years ago some friends suggested I should exhibit my work at various shows. I applied to the Philadelphia Furniture Show and was accepted. Since that I have exhibited in shows and galleries in South Jersey and Philly area, Wheaton Village, PFS, Chora Leone Gallery, Ocean City Arts Center, East End Gallery, Noyes Museum, Surroundings, and Stockton University, where I am currently employed.
The majority of my work is with book-matched pieces. Starting with a lumber usually 2″ thick or more, I then slice it down the middle or resaw the piece giving me a mirror image of the grain pattern, or book-matched. The resulting pieces are then assembled as a wall sconce for displaying other art or depending on the size of the wood, put together as tabletops. The resulting piece of wood after the resaw process dictates the final piece.
